Stamping on canvas

Hey all,

Hope your Tuesday is going well... Isn't it warm, there's literally no air here so I'm hoping for a big storm tonight to freshen things up a bit.

I just wanted to share a pic off my first attempt at stamping and colouring on canvas.

I bought these bags at last years summer crafting event and they've sat there doing nothing ever since.

When my Graph'it markers arrived I just knew I wanted to use them on these bags.

Well don't look too closely at my shading etc as I only had about 5 minutes to do this but I have to say I am so impressed with how well the markers work on canvas! Even the blender pen works - how amazing is that!

Well I hope you like it, I can't decide now whether to leave it as is or embellie it up a bit?

The secret is out - Wooo hooo

Hi everyone, just a quick post to tell you some news I've just been bursting to spill!!!!

I've been chosen as part of the brand new Graphit Marker DT!!!!!

Now Graphit markers are the newest alcohol marker to hit the crafting schene ... They are made by PAB (the makers of Pan Pastels).

I had my first play with them this week and was blown away by the vibrancy of the colours! I just know anyone who tries them will be hooked!

There is also a brand new Challenge Blog, headed up by the super talented Nikky Hall, owner of the fabby Polkadoodles!!!

Our first challenge starts on the 28th June and I would love it if you came by and joined in, there are some fabulous colourists on the team (still not sure how I ended up in there too) and there will be some great prizes up for grabs.

Here is a pic of my very first attempt with these faberoony markers - I do have more practicing to do but I wanted you to see just how great the colours are:

I really hope you will join us for our first challenge!

Bring in the Sun

Happy Sunday all,

Last week was my first week back at work after 11 weeks and i must say i'm absolutely shattered - I didnt even manage a full week as my youngest came down with Chickenpox on Thursday, I dont know which was more tiring, looking after her or going to work.

I'm sharing a DT card for Cuddly Buddly today:

This super cutie is by Lilyboo designs and is called "Bring on the Sun"

I have used my brand spanking new Graph'it Markers to colour her up, they are AMAZING!!! I still have a lot of practice to do though.

The papers on my card are also digi downloads from Cuddly Buddly.

I hope you like it, wishing all those who celebrate, a wonderful Father's Day!

"Emboss it" at A Gem of a Challenge

Happy Saturday all!

I hope today finds you well, i'm on my annual summer fitness kick so I started a new workout DVD called "30 Day shred" and my god my body aches in place i didn't realise I had muscles lol, i can barely walk down the stair! - ouch!

So anyhoo, today see's the start of a new challenge at A Gem of a Challenge and this week we would like to see you "emboss it".

This was a bit of a challenge for me as embossing has never been one of my most favourite techniques, I barely own and embossing folders or embossing powder but lucky I found one which matched perfectly with my image (I think the folder was a freebie off a mag)

So here's what I did:

I used one of the adorable new vintage images from Janet's lovely store, this one is Martha.

I used my promarkers to colour her in.

The papers are quite old, I think they are by Prima, and I used flowers from WOC and some Silky Crush ribbon and a charm from The Ribbon Girl.

For the embossing I used Core'dinations Whitewash and sanded it back to show the butterflies. I also used it on the inside too.

My card is quite dark and somber looking today .... unfortunately it's for a Sympathy card  ... never the easiest to make are they.

I hope you like my card and I would love to have you join our challenge this week.

Loadsa hugs xx Cara xx

Back to the land of the living!

Hey everyone, how are ya?

So i've been MIA for a few weeks, i've had to have a little op - not going into so i'll just say it was on my womb and ive been in a lot of pain but yippee i'm feeling a little better each day :-)

I've only managed to make one card since the op and tha'ts for a DT so i'm afraid you're stuck with ones I made a while ago and forgot to post.

Well somethings better than nothing right????

I completely enjoyed making this card, it was a custom oreder requested by one of my FB buddies and it was a real challenge - "Mrs & Mrs" with a rainbow, wow i thought "i'll never manage that" but I did and I must say I really like how it turned out.

Only on pic today as I had to snap it quick on my phone before I posted it.

The sentiment is SU and I used a SU "stamp-a-ma-jig" to & Mrs.

For the rainbow I went for a digital download rainbow paper pack and matted everything in black to make it pop!

I hope you like it.

I'll hopefully be back tomorrow to share another "one I made earlier"

Bring on the Sunshine

Hello everyone from a very sunshiny Rotherham!

I hope the weather is this nice where you are!

Today is the start of a new challenge over at A Gem of A Challenge and this week we would like you to "Bring on the Sunshine" - how apt for the day we're having :-)

Here's my take on the theme ....

... so there's not much to say about this one is there lol, very CAS for me.

The image I used is Cartwheel Jodie and the papers I used for the banners and matting are from the Lemon Drizzle digi papers collection.

The only other thing I did was doodle around the edge - simple.

I hope you like it, i'm going to slap some sun cream on my kiddos and head of out into the garden to do a spot of colouring in the sun.

Hugs xx Cara xx

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Sister Act - Always ATG

21st Birthday Fairy

Hi all,

I'm back as promised with the other card I made yesterday - get me 2 posts in 2 days woo hoo!

I purchased this image from Redonkadoodles after watching Kimberly Brown of JustWordz.ca doing her fab tutorial vids on You Tube.

This is Shy Fairy and she is so pretty:

I've coloured her with my promarkers and added Wink of Stella to her wings.

The papers are from another first edition pad but i'm not sure which as I lost the front cover sorry.

I added the number squares from the pad too as I liked how the card turned out I'll be giving to my hubbys cousin for her birthday :-)

I added a bow and pearls from my stash and more flowers from WOC, Oooo I also used my new wavy edge spellbinders and I love them!

So there you go, I hope you like it, I'm off to play with my new Fabulous Fashion and Fabulous Shoes CDRoms that came today woo hoo!

Hope you all have a great bank holiday weekend.
