Make it Cute for Pink Gem

Hi everyone,
I'm sharing my DT card for the new challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge and this week we would like you to "Make it Cute"

Easy peasy right?

I used the super duper new digi called Chloe and kitten and i think this pair are adorable!

I coloured them up with my prisma pencils (I seem to have fallen out with my promarkers lately hence the Prisma pencils being dusted off ... what I would really love to be colouring with is Diistress ink markers so i'm hoping and praying dear hubby will get me some for my birthday in a couple of weeks.

Of course if you don't like colouring or you just dont have the time you always have the pre-coloured version to fall back on as the lovely Janet pops one in the file with every digi stamp over at the store.

I used some more freebie papers for this card and the sketch is from "The deconstructed sketch challenge" - sadly I missed the deadline for posting :-(

The sentiment was dug out from my stash (unused!) and the pennants and bow were done with die-namices dies.

A little bit of dotting around the edges and it was done - nice and simple card today.

Before I go I just wanted to mention that I have signed up to bloglovin now so there is a button on the top left of my blog if you wish to follow me there.

And that's it from me today, i'm off to link up to a few challenges, I hope you all have a fabby Easter.

Love and hugs xx Cara xx

Silken Wings

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying your Good Friday - especially if you're lucky enough to have the day off!

I've been having a very tough time at work recently - so much so my doctor has signed me off for a month to try and re-cooperate, I'm going to try and relax (hopefully by crafting), spend some time getting back to "the old me" and have some much needed rest - well that's the plan anyway.

Today I have a card to share which I made for Cuddly Buddly and I used one of the latest Digi stamps released by Karen Middleton.

This is the very beautiful Silken Wings.

I have used my Prisma pencils and Sansador for a change and added some stickles to her wings and the butterfly.

The papers are from DCWV and are an old unopened "blush" stack called Mariposa - I love love love these papers!

I matted with Bazzill Swiss Dots and added liquid pearls and a silky crush bow.

I hope you like it, I really enjoyed making this. We've all been to the wildlife park in Doncaster today and had great fun but now I just cant get warm brrrrrrrr i think i need a large baileys coffee and a soak in the tub!

I 'll be back up tomorrow with my Pink Gem DT card, have a great evening!

Hugs xx Cara xx

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Sprinkle Some Love

Hi again everyone and happy St Patties day to those of you who celebrate!

Well my trip to the GNPE must have worked as I managed to find a tiny bit more of my mojo today woo hoo!

I've made a card for Cuddly Buddly today using one of their new Lilyboo digi's Sprinkle Some Love.

I coloured her with my promarkers and added a touch of my new "Wink of Stella" pen (it doesn't really show up on the photos).

I also used one of the new Marianne Collectables dies and stamp sets available from CB  here.

The papers are Forever Friends and I added a homemade crochet flower, some ribbon and liquid pearls.

Everything has been matted with Coredinations and had the distressed and faux stitching treatment.

Hope you like it.

I had no sleep last night as little Lacey has yet another viral infection so I think i'm going to spend the afternoon cuddled on the sofa with her.

Loads a love

xx Cara xx

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

The ABC Challenge - Just as you like
Sentimental Sundays - Anything Goes
One Stop craft Challenge - Anything Goes

A Gem of a Challenge - Spring

Evening all,

This post is super duper late, I do have the best excuse though, i've been to the GNPE today with my lovely friend Jill - thanks Jill it was just what the doctor ordered.

You may have noticed my distinct lack of posts on my blog and also the lack of comments on your lovely creations ... to be honest since my little Cherry cat disappeared i've not felt like doing anything let alone crafting or even logging on to my PC.

I've decided i've got to try and get on with things though and visiting the paper craft show was a great way to boost my mojo again :-)

So today I have not one but 3 cards to share (they are almost identical as they are for my 3 girls).

This week it was my turn to choose the challenge theme over at A Gem of a Challenge and I selected "Easter/Spring" - these cards really do make me smile and they are just what I need right now.

So here they are:

This lovely digi is Jodie with Easter egg and she comes as the coloured and black line versions (you get both when you purchase her.

I used the coloured version as I wanted all 3 cards to be the same (kids will argue over anything lol)

I used last years "Spring Drop" papers and some bazzill basics in lovely bright green for the matting.

Here are all 3 together, the little sentiment is also from Janet's store.

I finished them off with some die cut flowers, resin flowers and faux stitching.

I hope you like them.

Thanks so much for visiting me today, a very warm welcome to my new followers too!

Hopefully i'll get back on track with my blogging and more importantly visiting you all and leaving some love.

I'm settling down now for an Indian and a scary movie with hubby.

Hugs xx Cara xx

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Card Making Mama's - Spring time
Crafting for all Seasons - Spring
Crafty Calendar - Easter Egg-stravaganza
Creatalicious Challenges - Lovely Easter

Building Sandcastles

Happy Sunday!

I've had a very worrying kind of week this week, i'm glad to see the back of it to be honest.  Yesterday morning my little Cherry (cat) went out for the first time since her op and hasn't come back yet ... the only other time she disappeared I found her in our car engine ... after i'd driven 8 miles to school!! I then had to drive her home covered in oil and petrified, she was only a few moths old.  We've been walking up and down the street listening at all the cars to see if we can hear her (how strange did we look)

Anyway we decided to nip out and get some holiday brochures to take our mind off things and that's what inspired this card (although the whole time I was making it I kept expecting Cherry to jump on my desk).

This super cute digi is from Cuddly Buddly and is called "Building Sandcastles" and is by Lilyboo.

I coloured her with my pro/flex markers.

I used a gorgeous new paper pad I bought from The Craft box and it's called "Rock Pool" by Kaisercraft.

I matted it all with Bazzill basics and added die cuts and dewdrops.

The sentiment reads "Having a Whale of a time" but the camera wouldn't pick it up :-(

Here's a quick sideways shot - the inside has been decorated to compliment the front.

I hope you like it.

I'm going to go and have another shout out the door for Cherry and then maybe i'll get time to do a little commenting on all your lovely blogs.

Love and hugs xx Cara xx

I'd like to enter the following challenges:

Sketch Saturday - Sketch 248
DigiDesigns Challenge - All about children
NMWC - Anything goes

A Gem of a Challenge - Button it!

Hello again,

I've done the dreaded "Big shop" cleaned up, popped some washing in and fed the kiddos and now i'm back with my second post of the day.

This week at A Gem of a Challenge we would like to see your creations with buttons on them!

How easy is that, the winner will receive 2 images from the Pink Gem Store and we also have a Guest Designer spot up for grabs too!

So here's what I did:

I used this super cute image from the Baby Girl bundle, I went for the coloured version so I could print off a few and layer her up - I had so much fun too!

I also used the Buttons bundle and printed the gorgeous button heart border twice and turned it into a frame.

The little individual buttons came in the bundle too and I just re-sized and printed a few off.

The papers are from my stash and I added ribbon and a bow, and a punched border to finish.

Here's a shot of the sentiment inside, also from Janet's - sorry about the glare on the pic.

One final sideways shot so you can see the dimension.

I hope you like it!

I'm off now to try and relax and take some more tablets :-(

Enjoy your weekend

Hugs xx Cara xx

The Cupboard Trilogy - A Mothers Love

Good Morning everyone,

I'm here a little late (well a day actually) with my DT post for The Cupboard Trilogy

I've been feeling very off colour this week, I found a lump where there shouldn't be and have gradually been in more and more pain through the week, I eventually plucked up the courage to visit the doctor and it seems I have a pretty bad infection in my breast and under my armpit - ouch .... still it's a better result than it could have been!

So onto my cards, as our Challenge is A Mothers Love I made 3 - one each for Lee's mum and step mum and one for his nan (none for mine as we don't speak sadly - long story).

Warning these are 3 8x8 cards so there are lots of pictures.

I used my Wellington CD rom to print off all the elements for these cards (think i need a new ink cartridge now lol)

Everything was matted onto kraft card by papermania - and i need more of that to now :-)

I even printed out inserts for both sides - The CDROM has some gorgeous sentiments on it.

Here's a close up of each one.

I used a different topper for each.

And added flowers, pearls, ribbon and stickles, I also added die cut swirls and corners.

Wow I warned you about all the pics didn't I - if you made it to the end of the post well done lol!

I'm off now to write a shopping list for Lee and the girls.

I'll see you a bit later with my DT post for Pink Gem.

Love and hugs xx Cara xx
